Hello, is anyone able to assist me with this issue? I'm seeing the error code 244C00. Occasionally, the car experiences some sluggishness and then the drivetrain alarm goes off. After that, the problem seems to go away and the car drives normally.
I assume it's a gasket somewhere because the smoke test showed a leak around or under the swirl flap actuator. Has anyone dealt with this before?
You’re only seeing the surface.

On later N47 engines, the flap assembly is where the swirl shaft exits the motor; replacing the intake manifold gasket will fix this. It is necessary to reset the adaptations afterward.
Since it will be covered in crap, it's a good chance to clean intake all at once.
Take the inlet pipe off the turbo and feel the in and out play; turbos often have thrust washer wear that allows play, which in turn causes the compressor blades to catch the housing. An additional suggestion:

What exactly are reset adaptations? I'm grateful.

You will require the proper diagnostic equipment, such as ISTA, autel, etc.

While you're disassembling, replace any vacuum pipes that appear to be split along the ends.
