Greetings everyone!
Where should I get my dashcam mounted on my 2026 Sportage? I'm looking at the 70mai A810S. Initially, I was considering installing this on either side of the cowling or cover of the rearview mirror, close to the headliner. From my vantage point as a passenger, it appears like the field of view can encompass nearly the whole front of the driver's side.
The thought of it not being seen makes me reluctant, but the thought of putting it beneath the windscreen mirror cover is appealing.
I am open to any suggestions.
Much obliged.

Put it over the mirror, please. On the same level, on the passenger side, is where I am. You don't want the masking to obscure the image, so don't set it too high. Of course, you should try a few different things before you stick it. You can't compare my model to yours.
As the driver, I don't have a good view of it.

I tried it on the driver's side, but I didn't like how it was directly in my line of sight. In order to gain a decent perspective, you'll have to shift it around. It would be a major eyesore and likely draw the attention of the local cops if I placed mine under the mirror. A Nextbase 512GW is what I have.

The dealer fitted mine on the passenger side, somewhat lower. However, as you can see, the mirror cover does obstruct your view. Personally, I don't mind, though, because you can still see clearly what you need to. It all depends on the angle, but I'm afraid a right-handed blow may easily miss me. I don't know how you can prevent this with such a large cover unless you position it really low.
