Regarding LH injection cars from about 1993 until 1996. Are you familiar with generic mass air flow sensors? If so, where can I get some nice, genuine NLA? This is Bosch part number 02802140004, MB number A0000940148.
First, the incredibly low-priced Chinese ones that aren't a "hot wire" MAF; second, the exorbitantly expensive refurbished Chinese ones mentioned in the link; and third, the pricy, old, unkempt ones from MB or Bosch.
That isn't the cheapest, though; others cost £500 or more, not to mention the likely addition of VAT and customs charge.
You’re only seeing the surface.

Do you have a specific need for a substitute? From what I've seen, these devices are incredibly dependable and seldom break down.
There are several ECU refurbishment shops that say they can fix them, but I'm not sure how successful that is.

Yes. The 1994 E280T had a Pierburg insert that we purchased. Verify if the part number you have for your MB may be used with Pierburg.
Unfortunately, I'm located in the UK, so I can't test it out.
There are undoubtedly several used ones on eBay in the US that are far cheaper than in Europe, however obtaining a breaker to ship one here might be a bear. However, I may enquire about one or two of them.
While my friend's dad lives in Florida, I have a Minnesotan relative I can get in touch with. It would be ideal if the vendor was in the same state if I were to ask someone there to purchase one, wouldn't you agree?
