Hello, I am writing to enquire about the functioning status of the roof on my 2003 SL 350 3.7LTR.

I fixed the problem by sealing the ports as the soft close boot wasn't functioning.
Even if the soft close feature is now operational, the roof remains securely closed since the automobile prompts the driver to close the boot.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer.

You glued the ports shut; what gave you that idea? Evidently, the system is now receiving a signal that indicates fear.

If there is a leak in that section of the system, it is a typical remedy.
Completely aided in the gentle closing of the boot.

Please tell me if what I'm reading is correct.

Before the ports were sealed, the roof was functioning well.

Due to this glue incident, the roof stopped functioning.

That being the case, then...

I will admit that I have just attempted the roof this past weekend. The weather has forced me to dry store the car since I purchased it a few months ago. I am unsure of the video's age, but the vendor showed it to me showing the roof in action.
After reading some suggestions on YouTube, I took the boot lock mechanism apart and bonded the ports that had ball bearings in them so that it would close softly.
Since the air leaks are likely now shut, the soft close feature is functioning properly. Just right.

The car keeps informing me the trunk isn't closed, even though I tested the roof on the weekend.
Somebody mentioned that the two bolts that secure the mechanism could be slightly misaligned.
Constant illumination of the boot release catch on the driver's door indicates that it perceives the boot as open.
