I visited my rental property in London today, but the charging experience was dreadful. The closest charging station (Louvaine Road) had a type 2 cable lodged in the sole available charger. A squatter was utilising the area, preventing me from conducting my inquiry.

Severus Road was congested, and Comyn Road was also occupied, yet a Volvo remained in the central space with its lights illuminated. I halted and enquired whether he was departing:
I'm sorry, but it seems that the text you provided is empty. Could you please provide a specific text for me to paraphrase?I'm at 96%," he stated, "It will take an additional ten minutes.

I expressed my gratitude to him as sincerely as possible and refrained from enquiring whether he was heading to Wales this afternoon. Ultimately, I needed to travel to Grant Road and then transport my tools approximately a mile uphill to the site.

Upon returning to the vehicle at 3:30, I disconnected and tapped, yet discovered that merely 8 miles had been accrued. The power was cut off at approximately noon, resulting in 3.5 hours of inactivity charges. I needed to remain there for an additional thirty minutes to cover another eight miles, then proceed cautiously on the return journey. I have communicated my issues to TotalEnergies.

However, who remains in a vehicle charging at 96% while others require a charge? Perhaps vendors ought to conduct an intelligence assessment prior to selling an electric vehicle? :)

Tesla's imposition of penalty fees for exceeding 80% charge proves to be highly advantageous.

The aforementioned 80% penalty is applicable solely when the site is genuinely active, which is advantageous if you require 100% and the site is not congested.

Today I recharged in Elgin, a location characterised by a scarcity of rapids. I connected to a dual-headed 50kW Ezo, with a brand new Renault 5 connected on the opposite side. I arrived at 11% and departed at 75%. The 5 remained present, and the screen indicated it had completed charging, albeit without specifying the duration. In Stonehaven, the situation was exacerbated by the fact that the sole 50kW charger at the station was in use by an MG4. I enquired with the helpdesk regarding the possibility of unlocking the cable, as it was not charging; they informed me that they were unable to assist and that it had been present for two hours. I have a suspicion that it remained there throughout the entire day while the driver was employed. Overstay charges are essential, but they should only be applied after the third infraction to ensure that novice EV drivers receive education rather than punishment.

Regrettably, selfish conduct transcends the realm of education. It appears that there has been no alteration since 2017 when I commenced my journey with electric vehicles. It also illustrates a significant disadvantage associated with CCS. At the very least, with Chad, I could disconnect them and recharge if there was room to fit the vehicle in. The rationale for the daughter driving a hybrid instead of an eUp or Mini EV is the scarcity of functional rapid chargers in Scotland beyond the principal cities and sizable towns. I wouldn't acquire her a Leaf regardless, as I couldn't even transport my previous Leafs to her residence. Salutations!

I believe your irritation stems solely from his presence in the vehicle.
Did you feel irritated by the other individuals utilising destination charging who may have also been charging to full capacity but were simply not present in their vehicles?

It is, ultimately, charging at the destination.

This explains why numerous individuals are reluctant to adopt electric vehicles, as charging stations at destinations are frequently occupied.

In addition, a local individual is likely voicing grievances on Twitter regarding your vehicle obstructing the charger and "not even charging"! 😂

Was he at 96% on a rapid charger or a 7kW charging station?

The Tesla 'busy' feature is fluid: it may display 'Busy' once you connect it. The drawback of this situation is that one might reach a tranquil location, connect to a power source, initiate charging, and then later discover the necessity to hastily return to disconnect. Given that you receive merely five minutes' notice of the 'Busy' fee being enacted, this may become costly. To circumvent this issue, it is essential to keep the App operational and monitor it regularly to ensure the site has not unexpectedly been marked as 'Busy' by the algorithms. And clearly, remain within a five-minute distance from the vehicle.

Assessing the authenticity of this issue is challenging, as the individuals voicing complaints are likely not representative by nature. In the past 40 non-Tesla sessions I’ve experienced, none have occurred at a 'Busy' location. Despite numerous instances, the occupancy has appeared to be quite elevated.
