Have you ever tried to put your car in drive and the park brake wouldn't budge? Putting the car in "park" always makes the park brake work, that much is true. (the strange noise heard in the background is that). The brake wouldn't release yesterday when I tried to exit Costco, despite the "D" light being on the dashboard.
After I pressed the brake pedal and set/released the park brake, everything was OK for the remainder of the day. Strange, almost. Perhaps getting in the car was my way of rushing things. Who knows? My $20,000 check is almost here, and I intend to enquire about it.
You’re only seeing the surface.

Up until about two weeks ago, my '26 bZ did that only once. Putting it in drive didn't make it release. It took a lot of deliberate parking, putting my foot on the brake, and then releasing the brake using the console switch. Because I was in a rush, I kept making mistakes. I didn't succeed until I took my time and carefully completed each step.
However, the peculiarity lay in the fact that it failed to disengage itself upon shifting into drive.

Fora seems to have made one of those strange decisions to cross-post into other forums.

It just showed up somewhere it shouldn't. What a foolish choice
