My 2003 E55's check engine light came on yesterday, and I'm trying to find a way to replace the fuel purge valve. Does anyone have any recommendations? It appears to be discontinued with Mercedes, according to my brief internet search. I cleared the dtc error message (P2026-000, "fault not found in database"), and the check light went out. When left idling, it can occasionally smell like gasoline and, when hot, it can feel a bit lumpy.I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with the location and number of the part.

The link below contains the part numbers. All should fit, but the most recent Par number is at the bottom.

On the flea bay, you can find a couple of used ones. Some of the part numbers seem to be in stock at Autodoc.

It allows fuel tank pressure to escape into the engine's intake manifold. Petrol tanks that release their contents into the atmosphere are a thing of the past.
