Help? Is it possible to retrieve crash data?

Regrettably, my wife was involved in a collision not long ago. Congestion and an accident up ahead have rendered me stuck on a dual highway. After twenty minutes or more, the automobile began to move forward on its own, which terrified her. She panicked and attempted to stop it, but we believe she mashed the accelerator too hard, colliding with two cars ahead of her. Vehicle likely needs to be junked. No one else was wounded, and the police were excellent. She suffered scrapes and bruises on her arm from either hitting the steering wheel or the airbag deployment, but otherwise she is ok.

The next step is to collect telemetry data in order to figure out why the vehicle started driving forward autonomously. Car is currently at the rescue center and will be taken to Steer Automotive, according to Admiral, the insurer. Has there been anything I can do to ensure that we have ALL of the accessible data from the car? I contacted BMW, and they would like to speak on Monday.

When she got this automobile (about one year ago), the salesperson informed her that the Hybrid X5's auto hold handbrake button is constantly on, even though she generally drives in B mode.
