Among my many possessions, I have a foot rest or dead pedal that needs to be installed in my CLK. AMG style so it matches the others. I am seeking the most efficient method of repairing it. Feeling concerned about the carpet's ability to adhere to Velcro double lock tape. Screws aren't practical since they won't stay put.

I was hoping someone here could have a tutorial on this.

Much obliged.

That is something I've never heard of before.

May I propose an idea similar to this?

A metal "dead pedal" that I purchased from an Australian eBay vendor was permanently installed. The pedal, which was cheap and delivered quickly from Australia, is a perfect complement to the AMG metal pedals. The adhesive backing of the Velcro made it a breeze to attach. I was sceptical it would hold, but after 60,000 miles, it still hasn't budged.

Is there no parking brake pedal that you may engage with your foot on your vehicle? Things may get awkward, wouldn't they?

No, it wouldn't have any effect on the inane park brake; the carpet moulding currently serves as a footrest. The plate rests merely atop it.

After applying Sikaflex EBT + to the compacted carpet, I successfully secured my Australian employment.

All neat and orderly there. How long did it take for the adhesive to cure, and did you use the pedal or the carpet?
