Salutations everyone, My on-board sat-nav has been acting strangely recently; for example, whenever I'm nearing a roundabout or junction, the car will either self-brake or use the smart regen feature. It disappears when you disable the satellite navigation, and I haven't turned anything on. Does anyone know whether this is common for theirs? It brakes "early" and instead of coasting, you have to press down on the throttle to overcome it. hybrid sportage with 75 plates and 1.6 TGDi

The fifth-generation Sportage has an unusual satellite navigation behaviour.

Specifying the year and version of your Sportage (HEV, PHEV, Mild Hybrid, etc.) might be helpful to other members. It would be a time saver if you included it to your profile signature; that way, it would be displayed at all times.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely get to it.

Coasting is the term for the warning that appears in the middle bottom part of the instrument cluster and is only accessible when the navigation system is running.

The first time you don't anticipate it, haha, so I suppose it's just an instinctive thing. Thank you anyway.

In my '22 PHEV, I also notice that in sat nav conditions, the dash displays coasting and etc, just like said before.
It has always baffled me whether this maximises regenerative charging or makes use of the conditions to replenish the PPF.

I appreciate you getting back to me; if this is the case, I can see the value in having the option to maximise charging. It does seem unusual, though, that the regeneration feature is manual under regular driving conditions but automated under navigation. Regardless, I'm relieved that I won't have to take it to the shop.

Improves the efficiency of regenerative charging sources. Without a route from the satnav, the system is unable to execute anything because it has no idea what is likely to happen next!

Thanks for getting back to me; now I know it's a feature and won't require any further attention.
