If you want to know what the heck is wrong with this app, just watch this video. The moment has come to install a Compustar system. This app is completely useless.

This is absolutely correct, and there's no need for a video guide. So sad. It was for no other purpose than the login splash page (and to encourage people to accept to various permissions)—I was under the impression that Mazda had updated their app recently.

My 2026 Palisade and the fantastic (and complimentary) Hyundai app are two of the best things in my life. I hope Mazda is paying attention.

On February 14th, they took steps to make the app more secure by changing the encryption used for logins. At the same time, they removed the free Home Assistant feature for Mazda owners. I will update this post once these Github folks fix their interaction with GitHub. Just like the Mazda app, this Home Assistant connection was providing sensor reports. Before Home Assistant could uninstall the add-in, Thewy sent a cease-and-desist letter to the original developer. It doesn't make sense to pay for something you've already purchased, therefore fresh developers are trying to keep it going. With this app trial (two years in Canada, three years in the US), Mazda is trying to con us into giving them our money back. Extreme avarice reigns. All Mazda owners ought to be preparing a lawsuit. Since Mazda will be profiting $120 from your remote engine start/stop feature, I contacted Mazda Corporate, and they are completely unconcerned about this matter. How does this work?

I was wondering whether you've given the Smartcar integration in Home Assistant a shot.

Unfortunately, no. Is it functional?

If you're in the US, it should function, but it doesn't support Canada.

Extremely obliged. Yes . It is fundamental for Canada, as you say.

In the West, Japan, and Europe, HA is back up and running.
