Although an oil change could be helpful, you may notice some noise when you begin to listen (I know, it sounds silly).
To begin with, diesels make a lot of noise.

Based on what I can gather from that video, it seems like BMW would have used a fully constructed engine with the timing chain already attached when they installed a replacement. Even if that wasn't the case, they still wouldn't have reused the chain.

Very improbable to be diesel; most people no longer like them. In my opinion, the current setup of petrol, HEV, and PHEV will likely continue. To this day, the Sportage remains Kia's best-selling vehicle.

I have just received a quote for more than £600 for the 'A' service on my E300 (35k).
Just an oil and filter change, really!
Then there's "lubricating the sunroof!"
