Good day,
I have some cleaning to do behind the space saver spare wheel's undercarriage. What is the best way to remove the central "screw" without damaging the clips?
It seems like there are a few things I can bend or pry to remove the screw, but I'm worried the plastic is brittle due to the cold weather, so I wanted to get some advice before trying.

Getting the spare wheel out from "under the tray"

In order to remove the screw, I followed these steps: first, move the pin on the back to the left (final picture), and then, by pulling it towards you, slide it out.
Having said that, the tray itself remains stuck and won't budge. One possible reason the screw was 'pinning' the under tray down was my suspicion.

What am I missing? Does anyone have any ideas?
Allow me to clarify: because to the snow and wind, some water got in when I had the trim off for a few days. With that, I hoped to dry off and clean. Alternately, I won't have to worry about water coming in there if it's jammed down.

However, there is windscreen glue polyurethane holding the spare tire well in place. To pry it out around all sides, you would need a heat gun and other power equipment.
