Greetings everyone
To start, I ask that you be patient with me. I felt a strong sense of accomplishment when I bought my first BMW. I don't comprehend automobiles or technical jargon, and I'm in a terrible bind with this.
From a dealership in Hinkley, I purchased a pre-owned BMW M330e on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. That evening, I drove it home from the dealership, which required approximately 1 hour and thirty minutes on the highway. At first, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, save for the low charge on the hybrid battery. I just put it down to the dealership not charging it while the car was in their possession. My purchase was really fantastic.
I hopped in the car and headed to the supermarket the next day, at around lunchtime. The following faults appeared as soon as I turned it on:
Error in driving stability
Train accident
Limitation system malfunction
I got the engine going and managed to get about a mile before the power went out and I couldn't get the car to speed up. Seated on a miniature roundabout, I had turned on my warning lights but had turned off the ignition. I felt terrible shame.
It took me around five minutes to restart the car, but once I did, I could drive it home.
I checked the hybrid battery and saw that it was low, so I used the three-pronged charger that came with the vehicle to charge it. The charging brick is defective and there was no handshake.
I gave it another go using a different charger. No handshake yet.
At this point, fear began to set in.
After notifying my extended warranty provider of the problem, I contacted a nearby hybrid repair shop. The hybrid repair shop ran diagnostics and informed me that they had read the car's problem codes, but that they had come up empty-handed. The individuals in the automobile informed them that it was charging.
I was relieved to take the car home after paying £60.
I returned home and attempted to use the cables once more, but to no avail. I did some reading up online and found that hybrids and three-pronged chargers are very vulnerable to problems with electrical outlet wiring. Perhaps it's my house that's the issue, I thought to myself.
I got the vehicle running again and headed to get a charge cord so I could connect to a nearby public charging station. It occurred to me that the heater was alternating between sending out cold and warm air for a brief period. The truth is. Inside my automobile, it was really chilly. Never mind; the mistakes have disappeared.
Several public charging stations were visited by me. Connected the vehicle. Energised potential. I tried to shake your hand, but an orange light was flashing. Successfully completed handshake (blue light). The charge failed after about 5 seconds, and a white light came on. Attention: Charging point is now off and cannot be used.
Maybe it's the vehicle, I suppose.
Friday the 13th is my diagnostic appointment at the BMW dealership; I'm crossing my fingers that it's more a stroke of good fortune than bad.
Could someone, please? I need some guidance, some insight, anything!
I am completely frustrated.
Much obliged

You should give the dealership an opportunity to correct it. Reject the vehicle if the problems persist after this. Just pretend you're exercising your consumer rights and ignore their BS.

You have my gratitude for the kind reply. They simply keep passing me off to the warranty company and aren't that helpful, to be honest. I am making an effort to remain rational because I refuse to accept the possibility that they intentionally sold me a defective vehicle. You can see their many 5-star ratings on Google and other platforms.
Maybe I should take it to BMW for a diagnosis. Next, obtain a repair estimate. Then I should return to the dealership and request that they fix it, swap it out for another vehicle, or reimburse me in full (I highly doubt that they still have the car I parted with).

You should expect to pay a hefty penny for just the diagnostics. Don't shell out any additional cash for it. Completely free.

A quick search on the forum will turn up numerous reports of issues with the 330e battery.

That's correct. Really, all I want is for this to be resolved.

The car needs to be rejected immediately and firmly. No matter how much you hoped they wouldn't know, the fact is that it was defective. Return it after biting the bullet.
much success

By following the recommendations, you can determine if the automobile is a good buy. If it needs a new battery, which is a good thing because it costs over £7,000, then it could be a good deal.
