Good morning. A 2025 Sportage 1.6T GDi 157 48V ISG 2 5dr replaced my 70 plate GT-line Sportage. The trade-in date was 25 plates. Surprisingly, the specs seem to be similar with the exception of the leather seats and the 29-inch alloy wheels, neither of which concern me.
It brought a grin to my face when I saw the "driving mode" button—which offers three options: ecology, regular, and sport. Now I'm laughing it up in the car, so I switched to sport mode. Both the acceleration and the steering feel much improved. Because the automobile is more different than I had anticipated, I thought it was great.
Because the button and the lever should be in the exact same place, the electric handbrake seems strange to me. Disregard that; I will quickly adapt.
Is there anything I should know about problems with this model?
You’re only seeing the surface.

To avoid ever having to manually use the parking brake, I just turn on Auto Hold and let the car do it. I really like the car's Auto Hold feature.
Since 48 volts is mentioned, it is likely that the vehicle is a mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV).
With the debut of the new facelift model in September 2025, KIA terminated the MHEV. Please disregard the following information; a model receiving a redesign will not be an MHEV.
If you often take short trips and have little mileage, you may find that the MHEV experiences problems with the PPF (Petrol Particiulate Filter) being clogged. To get additional information, use the 'Search Community' button at the top of the page to search for 'PPF' in this subforum.

Oh, no, fuel. Because I lifted this wording directly from the vehicle description on the Motorpoint website, the auto parts retailer erred. To be honest, I had no idea what the 48v represented. Thank you for informing me; I will need to get in touch with them to get a fresh invoice.
The straight fuel versions are likewise vulnerable, which is a real shame. You shouldn't have any problems with PPF blockages if you're travelling a lot of miles or have a long daily commute, but frequent short trips with little mileage might cause them. The issue arises because the exhaust temperature is never raised to a sufficient level to remove the filter.
Look for something Many owners are presently experiencing excruciating pain because of this, but many more have never seen it, as I advised; observe it for yourself. This is only something to keep in mind.
