The E90 320D automobile Steps to eliminate the LPFP

This situation is really stressing me out.

I am getting nowhere with replacing the LPFP because the locking ring just won't budge.

I bought a generic tool and it gives me a little grip on the tangs, but the ring still won't budge.

I've tried to free it by using a club hammer and a screwdriver, but it still won't budge. I could hurt the tangs if I hit it any harder.

Is there anything else I can do to get rid of it?

They can be quite snug, but I do have a remover made specifically for the E90 with four points of contact; would you be interested in borrowing it?

I am grateful.Yes, I did it. Breaker bar, it simply required greater leverage compared to a standard socket handle.

Only a quick question anyway. Please tell me how to secure the unit so that it does not spin when the lock ring is tightened. I stopped tightening mine after it reached about 15 degrees because I was afraid it might mess up the gauge level. Is it irrelevant, though?

I just used one hand to hold it in place while the other tightened the ring, and I don't recall ever having that problem.

perhaps a little grease to help the ring turn without grabbing the pump's plastic housing?
