Through the years, I'd driven no less than six BMWs. I liked the Kia's appearance, warranty, and pricing, and I felt like I needed a change. Beautiful vehicle with an excellent driving position and plenty of assistance—almost too much—from the vehicle. The automatic headlights and wipers, media controls, etc. are great features, but the speed and stay-in-lane alerts are the worst. I chose the hybrid because I was informed that plug-in hybrids were no longer manufactured, even though I really wanted one. The fuel economy is great on longer trips, but I rarely go more than a few miles in a single tank, so my actual mileage is closer to 34 mpg. My old 520 diesel got much better gas mileage.

The Sportage PHEV is still available and is part of the official lineup.

It happened in May of this year. I am not expecting much from this.

Hold down the steering wheel's mute/volume button for about three seconds to turn off the speed warning. Whenever you turn the key to start the engine, you'll have to do this.
