The panoramic sunroof on my W205 won't open.

At the moment, the sunroof is electrically stuck closed and won't open. The driver's side stays down while the passenger side partially lifts when you try to open the maually via the motor with an allen key. If I can't lift the driver's side to gain access to remove the glass, how can I investigate the possibility that the rail has failed and an obstruction has formed? From what I can tell, in order to remove the bolts that hold the roof in place, you must have access to the front of the rails. Could you please assist me?

I was hoping this forum could be of some assistance. I don't think this is an isolated incident; has anyone else experienced this? I need your assistance, please.

A new set of runners, tubes, and maybe even a motor will be needed for this, unfortunately.
The runners are available separately from Mercedes, which is a relief.

The cables will stretch due to infrequent use and an absence of lubrication. It appears that the events are now occurring in reverse order.

Because of the complexity of the repair, many garages would rather not take on the job.

Getting the glass back so you can reach the rails is the first challenge, the severity of which depends on how seized yours is. I find it quite challenging.

Much obliged for the response… I believe I have found the solution to the repair problem. There is a plethora of information on YouTube, but I am unable to remove the glass because I am unable to reach the nuts on the front. How do I do that? That's what I don't understand.

While someone pushes up and back on the side that isn't lifting, you'll need to manually open the roof with an Allen key. Greasing and sliding are inevitable. It would be ideal if the two sides could ascend and descend at the same time. It will slide on the cable once it's up, so you can keep going back until you reach the distance needed to remove the glass. Remove the glass, and everything will be a breeze.
