The rear license plate frame and support of the 2025 Tesla model 3 purposefully have an outdated design. The only way to change the plate is to break the frame; unscrewing it is not an option. The so-called "service center" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, takes over two months to resolve the issue. What a terrible ordeal.

To change the license plate on a 2025 Model 3, there are only two extremely tiny holes in the bottom of the frame, and no screws. The so-called "service center" in Fort Lauderdale now needs more than two months to replace the foolish frame....Which Tesla purposefully created as an outdated design!

How did they evolve from 2024 to 2025? I have screw holes in mine.

Normally, a license plate would have four holes—two on each side—but when I went to change it, I noticed that there were only two holes on the underside and none on the top. The frame could only be inserted into those two tiny holes and secured with plastic pins; removing the pins would have resulted in damage. Because drilling the metal is the only option, I am unable to install a new license plate. Yes, that is my intended message. At least this guy on video has four holes, so he's a little luckier....

After the license plate/frame is screwed into the plastic black backing plate, my car's plastic black backing plate is screwed into the two holes that are located inside that cylindrical indentation. Was that not the case with your vehicle?

Coincidentally, the dealership where I purchased my car made a mistake and damaged the clips inside the trunk; however, the problem was promptly and at no cost resolved by Tesla Mobility. Perhaps a mobile service could outperform the service center in terms of speed.

Much obliged. I may look around or come up with a solution on my own....In my opinion, the mobile service guys are much more helpful than the dealership staff. All the "A"s for sails, but only curse words for their "service" on Google Maps in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
