Electric tailgate for the 2022 P250

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble closing the electric tailgate of my 2022 Evoque P250. It opens OK with the key fob, but every time I try to close it, it makes three beep sounds and then I have to close it by hand.
The problem persists despite my efforts to charge the battery, since I had heard that this could be the cause. The voltage of the battery is 12.8 volts with the engine turned off. I would greatly appreciate guidance from someone. Much obliged.

I had a similar situation when I returned from my vacation and it had been sitting for six weeks. It was resolved after a few solid runs.
Mine was under 5 years old when I purchased it, so the battery had already been changed. Perhaps that is the case if your battery is well past its useful life. I own one and was thinking about trying to charge the battery thoroughly. Cteks are popular.
I read somewhere that you can reset it; maybe you should look into it?

"Battery" is my word.
Change begins with this.

Our 2022 P250 is identical to yours.

The 'Low Battery Warning, Start Engine' message kept popping up every time we hopped in it, so we finally replaced the battery (it's just four years old). These vehicles' computer systems are so power hungry that they will turn off when the battery is less than 80% charged, even while the engine is not turned on. This is why you'll see the "Low Battery" message when you enter the car. We had the battery examined, and the results indicated that there were no dead cells or anything. Additionally, starting the engine was always a breeze. The inability of the battery to obtain a full charge has been attributed to its limited use and short excursions during the past four years. In that time, my wife has only travelled 18,000 miles. Finally, we swapped out the battery to silence the nagging alerts.

Finally reaching the crux of your question... The electric tailgate wouldn't open unless the engine was running, which was one of the symptoms we noticed. However, it would never close any issues. It takes more force to open the tailgate than to close it.... SO.... Unless you're having problems opening, I don't think the battery is the problem.

It seems like there's something wrong with the module or something blocking it from shutting. I looked it up on Google and this is what came up.....

My issue began on April 27th and has persisted ever since. Everything was taken care of earlier today.
Beginning in early April, the tailgate would open but remain unlocked. I had to close it manually after getting the same three beeps as you. Even after two weeks, it would open, but the maximum opening height could not be altered.
The two electric struts seemed to be the likely culprits. Thus, I swapped them out. Not a thing.
After then, the whirring sound stopped indicating that the lock was fully engaged, even if the tailgate could still be opened via the key fob, dashboard, or boot buttons. Pressing the tailgate firmly engaged the lock, clearing the 'open' indicator on the dashboard. As a result, I split the task of replacing the lock and actuator. Activator comes first, followed by the lock. Nothing has changed.
The next step was to find a replacement ECU that was an exact match, since I suspected it might be the tailgate unit. Make sure the part number is same.
Sadly, no improvement has been made.
The tailgate still wouldn't open after five days!
At last, I loosened the top right corner of the flexible hose, which is situated between the tailgate and the roof, by easing it off at one end. Presto, howdy! The black wires were separated by two snapped ones and two others that had cracked open, exposing their bare wires. The design is terrible. (To alleviate strain on the wires, my son's F Pace hose is far longer and staggered.)
The only option after consulting with my primary dealer in Yorkshire—who I visited for an inquiry—was to replace the entire tailgate loom, which, including labor, would cost more than £1250. I was so fed up with the main dealer's demand for over £400 for a replacement loom/harness that I researched OEM suppliers and discovered I could buy one for about £183.
I took the car to an auto electrician at 8:30 this morning after deciding it was too much work for me to handle. Two hours after the fix to the loom was completed, they called to check that the tailgate was completely operational again.
The total cost of fixing the loom was below £100.
I regret not seeing the auto electrician sooner; you will now have two replacement struts, an actuator, a lock, and an electronic control unit (ECU) on hand.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond; I will investigate the ideas you suggested and report back with my findings.
