Is privacy glass standard on all E and C-Class Mercedes now?

My current e-class is 10 years old, and I'm on the hunt for a replacement. From the factory, it was the entry-level e220 model, and I chose it for its basic glass and light inside hue (maybe cappuccino!) Am I seeing things right when I look at a replacement, either an e-class or a c-class, and say that there are no versions available with privacy glass or light-colored interiors?

Is it just me, or does everyone else desire simple glass and light chairs? Feel free to share your ideas or opinions.

While some exterior tints do not permit light inside colours, this is not the case for the C and E classes. I take it that Mercedes would rather not resale vehicles with "bad" paint combinations? A lot of the material these days is artico, not real leather, so be careful.

You have the option to obtain the base spec sport without privacy glass, just like the one seen in the photo. Discussing possible specifications with your dealer could be a good first step. A different user on this forum actually purchased his RHD from Belgium due to their superior option range.

I agree that it is obnoxious; I also like my earlier vehicle, which has no privacy glass and a light beige inside.

The response is appreciated. I will give it a go, but I'm not convinced it applies to brand-new automobiles.

Yes, I'm uncertain about the privacy glass. The UK configurator no longer displays the base specs, but our local dealer just got a new one, so it could be worth asking them. Maybe you can get away with no privacy glass at all, but then the inside will have to be all black.

Why is it that Mercedes can't cater to customer preferences?

It looks nice, keeps the car cooler (particularly when parked facing the sun), and is a good choice overall, but it's even better if your children are unattractive. Being the first vehicle I've owned with it, it came standard on my vehicle. Having blue glass on my blue CLK was a nice touch—it was distinctive.

The "van look" with legal front windows and a significantly darker tint behind is something I'm not a fan of.

Personally, I don't think it would look well on a black car, but then again, I wouldn't want a black automobile in general!
Personally, I......

I concur. Jr.'s blue Vauxhall looks alright (for a van, at least) on that

The 'Ugly Kid' Glass on the Beemer is very cool, though, especially ETTO.
