E53 offspring

I am curious to see how the E53 stacks up against the E43 now that I have resumed my hunt for a new vehicle. Since 53 is larger than 43, it must be superior, doesn't it?🤔😆 (“Yeah, I know 63 is bigger still!”)

Having said that, is the E53 a better choice than the E43?
Does the use of hybrid technology cause any additional problems? Is it still plagued by the same problems as the E43?

I remember seeing an ad for one before, but I passed on the concept because of my reservations about the hybrid system.

Although I can't make a comparison because I haven't ridden in an E43, I really adore my seven-month-old E53 Coupé (which shares the same chassis and motor as the W213).

In addition to cheerfully returning up to 35mpg on a highway journey, the degree of drivetrain refinement is quite remarkable.

The ignition system wiring looks to be the primary point of failure in terms of dependability due to heat degradation, but I'm sure someone will soon come up with stories of doom.

I have no doubt that these cars are fantastic, and I know that their owners like them. However, the added complexity of the hybrid system and the intricate technological tricks used to connect the two systems makes me lean more toward the 43 model. Additionally, because to its about 140 kg heavier weight, it does not generate significantly more power and has a similar 0-60 time.
