Exhaust system

Sir, I would greatly appreciate your insight. Two things are unclear here.

Before doing an open heart swirl flap deletion, you should do some research. My patient did not have any swirl flaps or a delete kit for them whatsoever. Do you know what kind of intake manifold I have?

I also used my younger sister's toothbrush to give that EGR valve a good scrub.

Regarding the crankcase breather, I have a second question. The Febi Breather I purchased did not include the toilet roll filter or the vortex separator. Three versions of this breather supposedly do away with the filter and separator altogether. Could this be true?

In the beginning, there were no flaps on the E53 M57 engine.
Unlike the toilet roll type, the vortex type crank case breather that you recently purchased never gets clogged. Your old one was upgraded to this.

There ought to have been a distinct vortex component included with my breather, right? An accessory that can stand in for the toilet paper roll?

I value your expertise, my friend. 🤎🏻

Wobble flaps are absent on E53 30d EU3 models. There are swirl flaps on the EU4 variant.

The housing itself is not worth altering if you have a crank case breather. You may get the loo roll with an early M57. With a vortex separator, M57N. Additionally, the M57N with a bare breather housing. Even though it needs to be renewed every two to three oil changes, the toilet roll is the greatest for oil separation. If you'd rather not deal with the toilet paper roll after installation, a vortex separator can be used in its place. Keeping a little amount of oil vapour in the intake stream helps keep the EGR soot deposits from clogging the swirl flaps, which is why M57N2 doesn't have an oil separator.

Same as before.
Because it is an exact replica of the one you originally received, your new breather eliminates the requirement for the toilet roll.
