Placing child safety seats in the second row while using the third

Who knows? I thought I'd ask anyhow in case I'm neglecting anything.

In the middle of the console, in the second row, are the captain's chairs. Accordingly, there will be no pass-through.
There is absolutely no space and the third row is totally unusable because I used to have the child carseats set to rear facing.

The ability to slide the seat forward somewhat and squeeze into the third row seems to have been mentioned in an earlier discussion about how to switch to forward facing mode.
It occurred to me the other day that in order to access the third row, I had to remove the kid seat first, as the seatbelt was preventing it from sliding forward without removing it.

Is there a secret way to fit the child safety seats in the third row, or am I just uninformed?
PS: I would prefer not to have the child seats in the third row because I rarely require them and because there isn't enough room in the trunk for them.

Is fastening the car seat with the seat belt not working? Have you considered utilising LATCH anchors instead?

Never utilise LATCH on a youngster weighing more than 40 pounds, according to the carseat handbook. It would be foolish to switch now that my child is so near to it.
I appreciate your suggestion.
It was in rear-facing mode with LATCH until it reached the maximum weight, which was probably 35 pounds, as that is the recommended position for the majority of babies. I proceeded to fasten it using the seat belt as soon as I turned it over.

Yeah, I see. In that case, I'm not sure what I can do to assist you; after all, the seat belts fasten to the frame, not the seat.

A high-back booster seat that is LATCH compatible could be the solution if you're planning to transition to a front-facing position with a child who weighs 40 pounds or more.

(Such as a Nuna AACE, which is highly regarded for its safety features).

I understand completely. So far, entering from behind has been our sole strategy.

Do you mean the trunk?
It would be entertaining to observe an adult straddle the seat with both legs extended.

Typically, I'll put one seat down and move about in that manner.

While I realise this doesn't address your question specifically, I did park the car seats in the third row. Even though my kids are old enough to jump in there on their own, I can easily reach across and fasten the car seat.

Yours faithfully. Losing all that cargo room isn't justified because we don't use the third row very often.
Since I have the potential capacity to carry six people in my car, I would prefer not to have visitors drive a second vehicle. 🙂
