The window in question

It seems that my r53 window can only go down, not up. It was running smoothly after I swapped out the motor and regulator, until I accidentally rolled it down one day.

I pounded and bashed the door till it swung open, but the action is inconsistent.

Once I removed the tracks, I put it through its paces in the other door and it worked well.

Do you have any suggestions?

Since it's functioning well on the opposite side, I'm wondering whether the wiring harness is broken at the point where it exits the body and enters the door. It's common for wires to break at that location.

Personally, I think that's the case. I was able to reverse the polarity using two window plugs after purchasing a door wiring harness and removing the window plug. Unfortunately, I am at a loss as to how to fix it for good.

I would remove the flexi rubber and inspect it for any exposed wires; are you skilled with solder and tape?

Although I'm not very experienced, I think I could handle soldering. Can you guess where the break is probably located in the harness?

From what I've observed, the ones with door pillars are the ones where the harness attaches.
