While I was detailing the car today, I saw that the plastic cover for the screen was lifting. I have a feeling that it should have been removed using the PDI in 2008. I pulled it out, and it came off mostly undamaged, leaving only a little residue on the screen.


In the time after the shot was taken, I was able to elevate the border of a glob measuring 5mm x 3mm and eliminate a small amount of it. Additionally, Tcut eliminated a small amount of residue. Only little less bad. Oh no, I've hit a wall.
How can I clean the remaining areas without damaging them?

It works wonderfully for me when I use this label removing spray, which is often reserved for safely removing paper labels from various surfaces. You might want to give it a shot.

It hasn't damaged any plastic surfaces I've used it on, but obviously I can't make any guarantees. I recommend trying it on something other than your car first. You could try squirting a tiny amount into the holes you've already made in the film; hopefully, it will go behind and dissolve the glue. There is no quick spray-on-and-peel-off method for using the label remover; rather, it requires some time to work.

On the other hand, you may try carefully heating the film with a hair dryer or similar appliance; this is just a suggestion based on my experience with window tints, which can occasionally be removed with a little heat.

Once again, the radio fascia could be damaged by excessive heat...

Avoid spraying the screen with IPA; instead, soak a microfibre cloth.
