Mini R56 from 2010 When it's chilly and locked in limp mode, one of them idles rough.

Hi there,

The R56 Mini I acquired in 2010 Rough idling and limp mode are problems with one 1.6L. The engine oscillates between 900 and 1300 RPM for around 30 seconds to one minute when starting from a cold state before levelling off. Upon reviewing the codes, the following were revealed:

The opening spring test for the throttle valve actuator and the throttle potentiometer are both located on 2B22.
2B2B - position monitoring and throttle valve actuator
Control and actuator for the throttle valve (2B20)

I attempted adjusting the throttle body, which led to the following code, after researching online that these codes indicate a problem with the throttle body:

Adaptation to environmental circumstances triggered by the throttle valve actuator (2B39)

Any further details on this code that I could discover online were completely invisible to me. Can anything else make the throttle body adaption fail, or is it an absolute dead giveaway that I need to get a new one?

I appreciate it.

Turns out that plastic valve is actually a valve for air flow. My first step in troubleshooting a malfunctioning unit would be to inspect it for physical damage. Inspect the area around the valves for dirt or contamination and clean them as needed.

The presence of valve codes is the most common reason it fails to set the adaptations; nonetheless, it also fails to set if the surrounding temperature is less than 7C or more than 105C.

Before clearing the codes, try leaning to see if they come back.

I appreciate you sharing that data. I will inspect the throttle body for damage, clean it, and attempt the adaption again once the weather warms up a bit. I last tried it a few weeks ago when it was chilly outside.

Discs held in place by the steel pin in the throttle bore housing can become clogged occasionally on drive-by-wire throttle bodies. The pin is held in place by a tiny hole that goes into the plastic.

Using a paper towel dipped in something like carb cleaning is something I would attempt at the hole. without the battery attached, so as not to spray that into it. You can find the gadgets in there area. should hold off on trying to jiggle it while the engine is running. It is an effective method of breaking objects.
Thus, have you tested the throttle body actuator yet? If I were in that situation, I'd get in the car, put my foot on the brake, and push the start button until I hear the starter solenoid click. Then, I'd let off the button right away. After that, I'd pay attention to the six distinct noises produced by the throttle body actuator. Reer, reer,,,,reer, reer, reer, reer, reer, reer,—sounding lively and energetic. However, if I were aware of the relevant codes, I would remove the tubing from the throttle body actuator and use a tiny torch to observe the throttle body's operations in detail. assuring that progress is both rapid and steady. as it moves around, there is no jarring or jerking. supple, as if observing it and perceiving the resemblance to human motion nearly. Definitely not an industrial robot. roll, roll, roll, roll. Its six distinct motions are more akin to human gait than anything else.
Additionally, the fuel end of things can be lean in the system. However, at this time, your current statement actually goes down the same hole as the previous commenter highlighted. outside temperature. The ambient temperature sensor, which is located on the inside of the bumper, occasionally stops working. regarding twenty-five dollars (USD). Declining to state that as the case. but, similar to the other issues noted in your thread, it is either temporary or code-related. Taking into consideration the codes that surround your codes in the book that I have checked in. violations involving digital media. possibly not the exact codes you provided, but they would be close next to a couple of them. one of them being skinny due to the cat.

As the internal plastic gears wear, self-adaptation becomes increasingly difficult. Also, make sure the harness has no breaks.
