S31 Mount for the Rear Engine

It seems like the rear engine mount on my 2008 T31 2.0 DCI needs replacing. When cold, there is a terrible vibration at idle and, what sounds like the mount, an eratic rattling or hammering in that area. Beneath 1000 rpm, the engine runs smoothly and silently. I've come across numerous T30 how-tos, but I'm stuck on the T31. Can someone provide a video or link to an instructional guide? Much obliged.

I removed the undertray and found a huge, dogbone-shaped bracket for the engine's bottom rear. Despite placing a jack under it and removing the engine weight, the idle vibration persists, suggesting that it is in good condition. Since there are just two bolts and easy access, it should be simple to replace in the event that the need arises. I'm currently looking into the front end of the engine to see if there are any clogged injectors that could be causing the vibration. The prior owner also disabled the EGR, which I've observed. Doubtful as to whether that might be the root of the problem. Much obliged.

In any case, being a diesel, my 2008 T31 will vibrate, and I do notice it more when I start it up. I just assume that's how the M9r in the Xtrail is; it appears to work better when it's warmer. It may be the initial startup and the increased amp demand causing the vibrations.

A mixture of cetane and injector cleaner in the tank makes it operate considerably more smoothly. This is a great response.

Make sure to inspect the balancer. It could be a good idea to change the belt too. Best regards.

Yours faithfully. I fixed the harmonic balancer and crank pulley. I opted not to change the belt, although it did alleviate some vibration. Perhaps that should come up next. It has been said that this problem can also be caused by the alternator pulley. Just a large, noisy, and ancient 170 horsepower diesel engine! I had a lot of trouble with this engine in my old Renault Trafic. When put side by side, this one looks much better.

Changing the engine mount probably won't help if the vibration is coming from somewhere else.
