Hello! I recently purchased a 2012 F11 520D that required a new engine. The previous engine was an N47D20C, but I installed an N47D20TU. Now, when I turn the key to start the car, it seems to be in limp mode. Any suggestions on how to get it operating normally again?

In my opinion, it need some code.
Or, you might try mapping it out; it could help, but you'll need to code things in first.

Since the TU only denotes technological upgrades, the engines are essentially identical.
Have you installed the entire engine or are you talking about the ancillaries?
came from a 20-drive vehicle that had the same horsepower as the donor engine?
Did you do a code scan?

Hello, I had a 20c on an F11 engine before, but I swapped it out for a 20tu from an F30. I retained the 20c's injectors, turbo, and everything else. Now the car starts slowly at first, but there are no engine lights and it doesn't have much power.
There were 164 horsepower in the donor engine, down from 181 in the original.

Had you installed a 320D engine from Efficient Dynamics? No reason why it shouldn't function if you swapped the parts from your engine with this one; the core engine is identical to what you removed.
Did you mention that there are no engine lights? If so, did you scan with a device that can read BMW-specific codes?

Yeah, I'm planning to scan it on
Friday with my launch diagnostic. Will it work? I hope so!

Oh, I definitely think so.
