It cost me £26.69 (including shipping) to get an air filter for a 2020 W177 A class from MB Newcastle. At that price, it's almost a no-brainer to buy. Mann is the maker of the filter.

Euro Car Parts had the identical Mann air filter for the same vehicle listed for £80 (without including the discount coupon), which is still significantly more than the OEM pricing. I checked it out out of pure curiosity.

Over the past decade, I can't recall ever purchasing anything from ECP!

In my experience, rude and useless employees are par for the course when purchasing ECP.

I spent £340 for an EGR valve from MB Newcastle, but the ECP cost more over £700.

When it comes to pricing, ECP seems to have gone completely bonkers in the past year or two. For my eBay needs, I now rely on Parts in Motion.

I would say that certainly. This is completely new. I still don't understand what went wrong. Their price is significantly higher than the OEM price. They were meant to be a more budget-friendly option,

Generally speaking, I always look at the dealership's parts price first.


Parts in Motion is something else I utilise.

If a garage uses ecp to order parts for the same day or the following day, you would assume they would be getting various prices for similar products like filters, wouldn't you?

If you're not in a huge rush, Autodoc is better than ECP, and Mister Auto was decent in their day. I don't know if they're still in business, though.

Usually, I'd stick with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, but if you can, look for sales on eBay or enquire with your neighbourhood dealer about discounts.

I purchased Brembo brake discs, pads, and calliper paint from ECP for my long-gone MX-5 a few years back. Great deal compared to OEM products when you factor in the decent price at the time and use a coupon code for the Bank Holiday. Therefore, you need to do your homework first, however they can be rather competitive on pricing.
