An additive can be added to diesel in colder locations to keep it from waxing. Cold start problems can occur if the diesel is too cold or if there isn't enough of this additive. Except in extreme cases, it will return to normal once warmed up. To avoid this, many individuals in colder regions install heaters beneath diesel fuel tanks.
Glowing plugs are another option, as previously said. Find out if they are all operational and match the specified kind and voltage.
Multiple injector changes have been necessary for me on T31 diesel X-Trails. Injector failure is possible, just as it is with any other common rail diesel.
