Actually, Tesla does employ "automotive engineers," but I wasn't calling the repair tech that. I already mentioned in my initial article that I don't think it's a matter of unbalanced tires because the drive train is working under stress. I figured someone else would have some insight into this, so I posted here.

Problems with tyre and wheel balance become apparent at certain speeds and under certain acceleration loads. A decent and inexpensive starting point is to check that they are balanced and undamaged.

Additionally, it removes a lot, as the motor and shaft seals would be the only remaining components when Tesla replaces the half shafts.

Are you prepared to put in some "footwork" to find out the answer?

It is not an imbalanced tyre if you are experiencing it in the floor and seat, particularly while the vehicle is under stress (accelerating or decelerating). Driving with the gas or not at all is of no concern to tires. Something about the rear drive unit, the motor mount, or the back half-shaft seems off. Refrain from dismissing a sickening vibration as a "characteristic of the vehicle" at all costs. Make an effort to tag along with the service manager on a ride.
