Seeking suggestions on how to determine if the problem lies with the vehicle or the charger.
Typically, I charge on Octopus from midnight until 5:30 in the morning. It won't charge the car for the whole five hours, though. The Octopus app's usage graph shows that the car is pulling 3.6 watts every half hour, or 7.2 watts per hour, which is the expected behaviour. However, I've noticed that on some charges, it doesn't pull the full 5 hours. For example, one night it drops to 0.2 watts at 03:00 and another night it drops to 0.8 watts at 03:30, and on both of these nights it stays at that level. Neither night has the car reached the 80% of its set point. An unusual one; suggestions are welcome. Many thanks

Based on my research, it seems like this might be a common problem with the Evo 3 following an update. I have seen recommendations to reduce the car's charge rate from 100% to 90% in other posts regarding this exact issue, so I will give this a go.

Ev3 Kia vehicle
I believe I've updated to the most recent software, as I performed the same thing last week.
The charger in question is a dumb charger from Ro loc.
The low season on Octopus is between 02:30 to 5:00.
Charging your car should only be done within the periods specified above.

Sometimes the car and the Rolec stupid charger just don't get along, which has happened to me on occasion. My issues were resolved after chatting with ev.energy support through the app. They took action on their end to fix it.

Can you tell me if you've tried charging during the day at the standard rate? It's more expensive, but it will provide a consistent supply of energy to the car, which is still more economical than fuel or diesel.
Make sure the car will charge whenever it's plugged in and let the charger to decide when to deliver power to the car. This way, the charging won't stop until the battery is full, 80% charged, or whatever limit you specify.

Thank you. I have considered using a different charger and charging it during the day, but due to the fact that it charges to its maximum capacity at times, it is difficult to test it in that manner. I would have to test it numerous times in case it doesn't work right away.
