Tracking the front wheels?

Hello everyone, my 2020 D180 L551 Evoque has covered 28,360 miles. Unfortunately, the front tyres failed the MOT this year due to the worn-down inside edge. Anyone have any ideas? I have the Trackace unit and I tried it last nite, but it shows zero degrees. I thought it would show a toe out value, so it's really strange.

If it didn't work, it didn't work, buddy, new tires.

The data shows a range of values from 0.22 to 0.44 degrees, so is there a positive value to the left or right? I was going to reset the tracking, but I checked and it's set to zero. I'll give it another try this weekend.

Thanks for getting back to me; I'm at a loss as to what could be causing the wear on my 6-year-old car; the MOT report mentioned fibres visible on one tire and wear throughout the tread. I plan to put the tires on with a slight heel and observe how it handles the road.
You should probably adjust the tracking to match the instructions in the manual. The car is 4WD, so LR should know what it should be. If you think it drives from the front, then tow out is the correct way to go (usually), but when I remember the MK5 Ford Escort, people would track it the wrong way because it was front-wheel drive and needed 45 degrees of toe in, which made no sense but was correct. Do the right thing and see how things turn out. Verify that the “Tow in” or “out” manual settings are correct.

When I ran Austin A60s (yes, I'm that old!), the tracking data for radial tyres was all wrong, so I had to add toe-in to stop the uneven wear. This is just one example of how tyres can affect manufacturer's figures. However, I would investigate another suspension issue, such as camber or castor, if the tracking is accurate according to specs. Also, if the cords indicated that tyre was well dangerous, I'd recommend checking them more frequently.

Yes, I should have looked into them. I believe it just needs a little adjustment to the toe in. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks, buddy.
