I was hoping someone could have some insight into whether or not the later BMW N47 1.6/2.0 engine could be swapped out for a PSA 1.6 diesel engine with minimal modifications to the loom, electronic control unit, engine mounts, etc. I am thankful.

The specifics will be known by @xxxMikexxx k; however, he is currently under the supervision of another mini.

you should probably fix an old, broken N47 mini instead.

I suspect it's all the electronic control unit (ECU) components, the gearbox, the subframe, and the exhaust that are distinct. After that you've spent a lot of money, it's just cheaper to get a Cooper SD from 2010 or later for approximately £800, chain gone, etc.
