Hello everyone!
Last week, I went to the dealership to get my hands on a Toyota CHR Design. The salesperson was really helpful in explaining how everything works.
Nonetheless, I simply do not recall how he demonstrated the process of displaying my applications on the screen. (Oh, and I'm 70 years old.) I'm sick of calling him, and the handbook that came with the vehicle isn't exactly a lifesaver.
I have no doubt it's easy!

Although we do not use the same system, I have some suggestions that you may find useful.
Do not be embarrassed or worried in the slightest! Because of the sheer volume of information displayed on modern car screens, it is easy to become confused and forget the proper way to operate the controls while perusing the inventory in a showroom. No one has ever gotten stuck on this before you.
You get the latest version of Toyota's Smart Connect system since you're driving a brand-new 2024 Design trim. This implies your vehicle has the intelligence to transmit the content of your phone's apps—such as Google Maps, WhatsApp, or BBC Sounds—to the large screen in your vehicle.
The hard part is actually over because the salesman already took care of it! You can already hear your phone and the car "talking" to one another.
Just follow these easy steps to get your apps back on the screen:
To begin, look at your phone.
Make sure your phone is on and within range of the car (in a pocket or the center tray) before attempting to use the screen features. To transfer apps, the vehicle must detect the phone.

The vehicle may have momentarily "lost" its wireless connection to your phone if pressing the button still shows no connection. To activate it, follow these steps:
Choose the cogwheel icon located on the screen.
Go to the "Bluetooth & devices" menu and tap on that.
Your name or phone number will be displayed there. Press the name of your phone.
Make sure the little switch that says "Use Apple CarPlay" or "Use Android Auto" is turned on or ticked next to your phone's name on the screen.
"The One and Only "Cheat Code"
An absolutely foolproof backup plan exists in case you ever find yourself totally stuck, irritated, or if the wireless connection fails:
Just take a standard phone charging cord, attach one end to your mobile device, and insert the other end into the car's front USB port.
"Do you want to start CarPlay/Android Auto?" will pop up as soon as you plug in the cable. Simply tap "Yes" or "On" to activate your apps.
The next time you're stuck in traffic, try it out. I was wondering if you were familiar with the differences between Apple's iPhone and Android phones, such as those made by Samsung or Motorola. I can show you the icons in their exact form if you tell me which one you have!

If you're referring to Apple CarPlay, which allows you to connect your iPhone to your car through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, then all you need to do is turn on your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Assuming everything is in order with your car's setup and the registration of your multimedia system, your phone should be able to connect to the car and pair with the system.
The next step is to use the touch media controls on the screen of the media unit to transition from the Toyota Media system to CarPlay.
There is a Media User Manual that you can buy from the dealer or find online, though it's not very user-friendly. Reconnecting with the dealer to resolve any issues you may be experiencing might be more convenient.
