Quick update for everyone following.

The Mustang finally arrived today and I’m honestly relieved more than anything.

First impression absolutely stunning in person, better than the photos, if anything.

Had a bit of stress with the customs side when it landed in the UK as I had to pay the import charges before it could be released. Ended up being just over 27% altogether once the import duty, VAT and port fees were added on top of the shipping costs, so definitely something to budget for when bringing a car over from the US.

I’ve already booked a classic specialist to inspect it within the 14-day period, but so far everything looks exactly as described.

Massive thanks to everyone here for the advice and reassurance. Definitely helped calm my nerves through the process.

The segregated account side is probably what makes people more comfortable.

If buyers were transferring money directly to random sellers overseas, hardly anyone would risk it. Having a neutral company hold the payment until approval changes things quite a bit.

Well, maybe over in the states, they’ve got a better handle on the scamming game, but I’m not so sure about that. Regardless, I’m tickled pink that you snagged the car and everything turned out just peachy!

I have conducted my due diligence by calling multiple times to check on the car and paperwork and in the end I crossed my fingers for 40,000, and I am grateful that I did, as this is my dream car.
