There will be a cost, but I believe you'll have to take your automobile out of their possession (if they have it) and have an outside party handle it. They intend to use the mileage as evidence. At that age, cars may and often do break down.

Almost surely, they will attempt to avoid it. The day following a service, our 1000-mile Volkswagen Golf suddenly stopped responding. It was a complete coincidence. This is unrelated to our situation; the oil pump drive snapped.

To avoid ever having to manually use the parking brake, I just turn on Auto Hold and let the car do it. I really like the car's Auto Hold feature.

Wobble flaps are absent on E53 30d EU3 models. There are swirl flaps on the EU4 variant.
