Since 48 volts is mentioned, it is likely that the vehicle is a mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV).

As part of a recall, I had that checked out when I took my 25-year-guaranteed SBC pump in for maintenance. The only thing they did was test its lifting potential using a suction cup. No need to fix it if it didn't.
